Walthers Mainline 910-40719 HO Boxcar - Kansas City Southern #16477

This Walthers Mainline HO scale 40' ARA Single Sheathed Boxcar arrives decorated for Kansas City Southern as road number #16477. Freight cars built to American Railroad Association (ARA) standards marked a step forward in car design, as manufacturers began using steel framing in place of the earlier all-wood construction. The sturdier outside-braced result stayed a common sight in revenue service from the 1920s into the 1950s, pairing naturally with steam and early diesel power.

Ready to run straight from the box, item 910-40719 recreates these cars with detailed simulated wood sides over steel bracing, Murphy ends, and a flat steel roof. It rides on correct 33" turned metal RP-25 wheelsets and is fitted with Proto MAX magnetic metal knuckle couplers. These road numbers are a one-time run made in limited quantities, so reserve Kansas City Southern #16477 for your roster before they are gone.
