The Walthers Mainline 910-20625 brings the EMD NW2 switcher to HO scale, decorated for St. Louis - San Francisco #262. One of EMD's most popular diesels, more than 1100 NW2 units were built between 1939 and 1949 for over 50 railroads, and some still work today. This ready-to-run model is ideal power for coach yards, freight yards, branchlines, and heavy industry.

Model 910-20625 is based on Phase V units built in 1949, with louvered radiator grilles, dual tall conical exhaust stacks, a small front radiator grille, six louvered side doors, large center cab windows, and factory-installed grab irons. It rides on correct-size RP-25 metal wheels with Proto MAX metal knuckle couplers, and its factory ESU Sound and DCC decoder runs on DCC and DC layouts with 14, 28, and 128 speed steps, four CV-adjustable air horns, two bells, and full 8-notch 567A prime mover sound.
