Walthers Mainline 910-11416 HO EMD F7 A - Reading #275A

Put a single Reading cab unit on your HO layout with the Walthers Mainline 910-11416, an EMD F7 A unit lettered for Reading #275A. Introduced in 1949 as diesels replaced steam across the country, the F7 handled freight and passenger assignments and wore a wide variety of colorful schemes, with many units serving into the 1980s. This powered A unit is ready to lead a train as soon as it leaves the box.

The 910-11416 arrives ready to run with factory-installed handrails and is wired for Standard DC, with a 21-pin plug for easy DCC conversion. It carries an LED Mars Light in the upper position and a headlight in the lower position. The locomotive uses the same drive as Walthers Proto models, featuring a five-pole skew-wound motor, 14:1 gear ratio, helical-cut gears for quiet, easy multiple-unit operation, all-wheel drive and electrical pickup, dual machined brass flywheels, and a heavy die cast metal chassis. Correct size RP-25 metal wheels and Proto MAX metal knuckle couplers complete the model.
