Item 97815 runs on a silky-smooth and powerful PIKO mechanism that gives great low speeds and precise control, and it rides on RP25 wheels with PIKO knuckle couplers and period-specific details. The prototype KM units were put to work in the hardest mainline service, and while teething problems and a clash of engineering cultures ended their careers within the decade, they left a lasting impression.
