The included Pocket Remote controls speed and direction along with horn and bell, and eight selectable R/C channels let you run several locomotives independently or together in a consist, with a range of up to 80 feet (30 meters). Because the motor is completely isolated from track power, the 38516 runs anywhere. It is driven by a 5-pole precision can-type ball-bearing motor, carries factory-applied handrails, a coupler lift-bar, and steps, uses hook-and-loop couplers ready for Kadee knuckle couplers, and has a minimum recommended radius of 600mm (23.6 inches).
