Based on a typical small town railroad building, the Walthers Cornerstone HO Scale Golden Valley Freight House looks at home on steam and early diesel-era layouts. While most people were familiar with their depot, just a few feet down the track was the railroad's real moneymaker - the freight house. Its trackside loading platform and truck-height, streetside loading doors allowed the easy transfer of cargo and Railway Express Agency parcels between boxcars or reefers and local delivery trucks. Modeling an authentic freight station scene is a snap when you add the Golden Valley Freight House to your layout. This easy-to-build kit features parts molded in gray for easy painting and includes a positionable semaphore-style train order signal, a brick platform in the traditional herringbone pattern, interior walls with molded details, wooden interior floor, a baggage cart and signs. The Golden Valley Freight House kit also includes station name signs matching those included with the Golden Valley Depot (933-3532, sold separately). is one of a wide variety of Cornerstone HO Scale railroad buildings.
