Kadee 712 HO Old-Time Split Shank Plastic Couplers Rust 2 Pair

The Kadee 712 is a 3/4 size old-time plastic knuckle coupler finished in rust color and built for light-duty, pre-1900 era HO-Scale equipment. It is constructed on a narrow-gauge coupler body with an extended trip pin, so the #712 mates with Kadee full-size HO-Scale couplers while carrying the lighter loads common to early rolling stock. Because it is smaller, gathering and load capacity are reduced compared with Kadee standard HO couplers. This Magne-Matic split shank coupler can be body mounted on any flat surface on HO-Scale locomotives or rolling stock.

The #712 arrives as an unassembled kit and includes a plastic coupler with a coil centering spring together with an insulated draft gearbox and lid. The insulated plastic gearbox helps prevent electrical crossover that a metal coupler on a metal surface can cause. The coupler has a 3/16" shank length and a centerset offset, and the gearbox measures 27/64"L x 15/64"W x 1/8"H. Two pair come per package, made in the U.S.A. Mounting height is 11/32", centerline 25/64", and trip pin height 1/32", with 0-48 or 0-80 screws most commonly used.
